About the Author
Lawrence S. Cunningham is the John A. O'Brien Professor of Theology at the University of Notre Dame. He is the author and editor of twenty-five books, including A Brief History of Saints.

getting inside the chapels without being there

Wonderful photos of the art, including stain glass, and themes of the chapels in academic and residential buildings on the campus of Notre Dame University. Very fascinating. Makes me want to go see them all myself.

Styles abound

For those who like to see a variety of styles, this book shows many. What is a chapel? What should it look like? What should it feel like? This book has examples of many styles and sizes -- stand alone, and incorporated into other living spaces such as dormitories. Some are only open by appointment -- which I find a bit sad. But many shown here are in regular use and available for personal meditation and prayer.
